Why a canvas?
A canvas provides a free, unstructured space to visually represent ideas, encouraging creativity and free thinking.
How do you use the canvas?
Follow the steps below to effectively fill in the canvas. Encourage creativity and free thinking within your team.
How does Canvas work?
Step-by-step plan:
- Visualize your dream: Use the large cloud in the center of the canvas to sketch or describe your main dream or vision. This is the place for your most ambitious idea.
- Steps to your dream: Use the smaller circles on the bottom left to write down the steps or milestones that lead to your big dream. These can be concrete actions or intermediate goals.
- Details and Elements: Fill the space around the main cloud with smaller clouds or symbols that represent different aspects or details of your dream.
- Color and Creativity: Use colors, drawings, or symbols to make your ideas vivid and memorable. There are no strict rules – just let your creativity flow.
Tips:
- Encourage wild and unconventional thinking. There are no bad ideas at this stage.
- Use metaphors or analogies to express complex ideas simply.
- Think about the impact of your dream: how will it change the world or your organization?
- Include different perspectives: what does your dream look like to different stakeholders?
Best practices:
- Create a safe environment where all team members can freely share their ideas.
- Build on each other's ideas to enrich and refine the dream.
- Use the completed canvas as a source of inspiration for further innovation processes.
- Revisit the Dream Canvas periodically to see how your vision is evolving and to stay motivated.
- Link the dream to concrete actions in other canvases or project plans.
