The Foreign Portal
Send your life certificate without DigiD.
We have tested the Abroad Portal with SVB customers. Customers who receive a message from the SVB in July 2018 with which they must send a life certificate and who live in Greece, will receive an invitation to participate in the trial with the form.
As said, this is optional for the customer, they can also choose to continue to do it the old way.
It is not always easy for SVB customers who live abroad to send documents such as a life certificate. They do not have a DigiD or do not request it for various reasons, which means that they have to send documents by post. Mail is not arranged as well in many countries as it is in the Netherlands, which means that it sometimes does not arrive or is on the road for a long time. In many cases, people abroad want to communicate digitally, but this is not that simple.
With the Abroad Portal we want to overcome these problems. A different way of logging in has been considered. To gain access to the new portal, people must transfer 1 euro cent to the SVB with the account number on which they also receive their benefits. They also enter their name and address, which the SVB then checks with information that the information that SVB already has from these people. If the payment is successful and the information is correct, customers have access to the portal. Here they can upload documents, such as the life certificate, to the SVB within a secure environment. And all without DigiD.
If this testing ground receives positive feedback, we will look at how we can best integrate this way of logging into the SVB systems. All this so that we can serve our customers abroad even better in the future!
